Pick-up at Golosón International Airport (LCE) and check-in at Hotel Guacamayos. Guided afternoon city tour along the boardwalk, welcome dinner at Ahari Gastrobar and a nightlife tour.

Diving & reef: from Utila to the Pico Bonito summit
Four nights on Utila to earn your Open Water, Advanced or Rescue card on the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, then rafting, Cayos Cochinos and a night under the stars.

Three levels, five partner dive schools on Utila
Pick the school and level that suit you. Gear, instructor and course materials come with your course.
Open Water Diver
For beginners. Theory, shallow-water skills and 4 open-water reef dives to 18 m (60 ft).
Advanced Open Water
5 adventure dives, including a deep dive to 30 m (100 ft), navigation and peak buoyancy.
Rescue Diver
Emergency prevention and rescue. Requires a valid EFR first-aid card from the last 24 months.
Itinerary
Stage 1 on the reef, stage 2 in the river and forest
Fly into Golosón International Airport in La Ceiba (LCE). Every transfer, ferry and boat from there is arranged.

Ferry to Utila, your course starts
9:00 AM ferry to Utila. Check in at the dive school you chose and start your course the same day.
Day3
Theory and confined water
A full day of theory and practising the essential underwater skills in shallow, calm water.
Day4
The Mesoamerican Barrier Reef
Open-ocean boat dives over the coral walls and marine life of the Mesoamerican Reef.
Day5
Graduation and island time
Finish your course and receive your certification (or enjoy fun dives), then a free afternoon to explore Utila or relax on the beach. All diving ends today.
Day6
Back to La Ceiba, Class III/IV rafting
Morning ferry to La Ceiba, breakfast and a change of gear at Hotel Guacamayos, then whitewater rafting on the Cangrejal River and dinner.
Days7–9
Option A: Cayos beach camp · Option B: jungle camp
Option A: Day 7 hike in Pico Bonito and Dinner #3 at Ahari Gastrobar; Day 8 boat to Cayos Cochinos (6–8 AM) and beach camping; Day 9 camp breakfast and boat back (12:30–2:00 PM). Option B: Day 7 boat to Cayos Cochinos (6–8 AM, back 12:30–2:00 PM) and Dinner #3; Day 8 ascent into Pico Bonito for an overnight jungle camp; Day 9 camp breakfast and descent. Both end with a hotel shower and your airport transfer.

- Land and sea transfers: Shuttle Guacamayos for the airport, ferry port, Cangrejal River, Sambo Creek and Pico Bonito; round-trip Utila ferry and a safe boat to Cayos Cochinos (6:00–8:00 AM departure).
- 8 nights: 3 in La Ceiba at Hotel & Hostal Guacamayos (nights 1, 6 and 7), 4 in a shared dorm at your Utila dive center (nights 2 to 5), 1 night camping with full gear (night 8).
- PADI or SSI course at one of 5 partner dive schools: Open Water, Advanced or Rescue.
- Meals: 8 breakfasts and 3 signature dinners at Ahari Gastrobar.

No-fly safety
Dive first, fly later
Safe no-fly interval
All diving ends on Day 5, which leaves more than 72 hours of surface time before your Day 9 flight (after 1:00 PM).
Travel light
Leave your big suitcase at Hotel Guacamayos for free and take only a day bag to the islands.
Full camping gear
Tent, mat and camp breakfast are included. Sleep in the Pico Bonito cloud forest or on a Cayos Cochinos beach.

We meet you at Golosón International Airport. Airfare is booked by each traveller at the day's price.
